Woodlands

I've patiently been waiting for the fILOFAX Woodlands to come out. I ordered it the same day it did. :) I carry it with me in my purse. It's not completely set up yet because I don't know what I want to put in there yet. For now, it's the calender, a food-/calorie-intake section, a personal wishlist, and lots of notepaper.

The Woodlands Personal is quite inexpensive so don't expect too much concerning the quality. The cover with the little rabbit is pretty cute but it's faux-wooden texture looks a little like pvc-flooring.

Still, this organizer has a special feel too it. The little bunny from the covers makes more appearences on the the title page and on the inside of the binder (see photo below). I like this a lot, it adds extra-cuteness and makes me love this personal-sized planner.

The only thinks I'm missing a the slots/pockets on the inside cover where one can store business cards, stamps etc. Also, the pen holder is only made from clear plastic and once you add a pen to it it's always in the way. I wish it had a little slot/pocket to which I could add one of the Flex pen holders.

Has anybody else oredered a Woodlands yet? How do you like it?

My Domino

Here they are, the promised photos of my fILOFAX Domino A5:

It was my father who introduced me to the world of planners & personal organizers. Back then (I was still in school) I didn't really appreciate the first fILOFAX he bought me. I tried to find it the other day but I guess it's stored away somewhere in the basement or at my parents house. It was red, too.

Only now have I decided to give this whole planner thing another try. So after lots of thought I ordered the red Domino, size A5. It arrived a couple of days later and has made me happy ever since. It came with a calender, notepaper, to-do-lists, address pages, a ruler, and lots of dividers.

I had already seen some cute fILOs on other blogs and on pinterest, so I decided to try and customize mine as well, at least a little. I found some cute free printables via Pinterest and printed one to put in the front. I will probably exchange it for another print-out in the future, probably something red and black to match the Domino.

Here's how the last week looks like in the calender section. I like color-coding the different tasks and appointments. The Domino comes in many different colors. I ordered the red one (and doesn't it remind you of Rufio, too?).

Does anyone else own a fILOFAX or even more than one? Which ones and what do you use them for?

Personal Planner

I've been wanting to tell you about my newst love - a planner by fILOFAX - but I was so busy that I didn't take one single picture of my beautiful red Domino and therefore didn't blog. :(

I hope to share photos some time next week. Until then I might even be able to show you the other two planners I ordered today... Guess I'm addicted to planners and organizers now... ;)

NF Fitness Challenge

I've just joined the next Nerd Fitness Challenge, starting tomorrow. For the next 6 weeks I'll try to achieve these goals:

1) Take 2 classes/week at my local gym. Take 1-2 extra classes whenever possible.
2) Cut down on sugar/eat less candy and fast food.
3) Walk 5-10 extra minutes with the dog each day.
4) Be a better homemaker. ;)

I'm trying to take it easy.

My introductory post on the NF forums is here.

Is anybody else taking part in this? Add me as a friend on the NF site. :)

Building Muscle

I want a strong back so I went to the gym twice this week.

I would love to go a third time but since it is only a small gym their hours clash with my schedule on some days. So twice a week it is for now.

I really like the classes I am taking on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I always feel better after having exercised.

I am glad they offer so many different ways to buikd muscle in your back. I want to get rid of that pain for good.

How often do you take classes at your local gym? Which are your favorite workouts for a stronger back?

Working Out & Meeting Friends

Remember when I told you about my hurting back? Well, the problem is still not solved so the doc advised me to take rehabilitation sports classes.
Unfortunately, my private health insurance does not (want to) cover the costs. PUBLIC health insurance does. Go figure!
Does not matter, though, because these classes are also included in my gym membership.
My first class was last week. When I entered the gym, I saw a familiar face among the other members: a friend of mine! And I did not even know she had joined the gym.
I had hoped to have found a workout buddy but I have not seen her since although she wanted to join me in the classes I was taking. Hope she has not given up (yet).

Animals

As most of you already know, I love animals. I love my little Flo more than I can say and it breaks my heart to hear about animals who have been abused, tortured, left to die.

If you'd like to help an animal in need, maybe donate a small amount or even adopt one, please do! If you don't know where your help is needed, here are two suggestions (many more can be found through internet search or are listed in your local phone book):

Noah's Ark Rescue (located in SC, USA)
Warning: some photos of the animals' injuries are very graphic.

Argos Sanctuary (located in Cyprus)

There are a lot more organisations helping and saving animals. If there's an animal shelter or organisation close to you locally - or close to your heart - and if you can spare a dollar/euro or two, please consider donating.
Even small donations help them save animals, feed them, care for them, and find new homes for them.
Some shelters are also grateful for donations of dog/cat toys, cat litter, blankets etc. Just call ahead and ask them what is needed.
